The North of England’s largest and best-loved outdoor ice rink is back for its 19th season in York, with 975 sq m of real ice for you to glide around and show off your skating talents!

The ice rink is surrounded by illuminated trees, our rinkside cafe 'The Chalet' with its outdoor terrace, a decorative skate hire marquee, wooden cabins, and a viewing platform.
Once you've checked in at the box office, head to our skate hire marquee where our friendly staff will help you get fitted with skates. We also have ice shoes for younger skaters.
Allow plenty of time for getting your skates fitted - we recommend 20 minutes!
We have Bobo the Penguin and Buddy the Snowman stabilisers to help younger skates get started on the ice. These can be hired from the box office on a first come first served basis.
Our rinkside café, The Chalet, will be serving a variety of winter food and drinks, including hot dogs, toasties and sweet treats as well as mulled wine and the best hot chocolate in town!
For those who want to get close to the thrills and spills of skating, our outdoor terrace is a great vantage point to cheer on the skaters, while enjoying a festive drink!
